Uniform Linear Arrays With Optimized Inter-Element Spacing for LOS Massive MIMO

چکیده

In this letter, a uniform linear array (ULA) is proposed for line-of-sight massive multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO). It assumed that the number of antennas fixed. For given ULA with an arbitrary inter-element spacing, probability correlation among channel vectors two users being above threshold value derived. The spacing one which aforementioned minimized. To show effectiveness ULA, simulation results scenarios are 64-antenna serves 6 single-antenna users. By using instead conventional half-wavelength 5th percentile sum-rate zero-forcing precoder improved by 9.90 bits/channel use in first scenario without dropping, and 1.43 second dropping 1 user.

Sparse Cantor Ring Antenna Arrays with Non- Uniform Element Spacing

This research project is based on previous work done by Dwight L. Jaggard and Aaron D. Jaggard on fractal ring arrays. We utilize fractals in the fabrication of a class of Cantor ring arrays. Fractal descriptors such as dimension, stage of growth, and lacunarity are applied in designing and characterizing these Cantor rings. Using the continuous arrays developed by Jaggard and Jaggard as a poin...

Near-Optimal Linear Precoding with Low Complexity for Massive MIMO

Linear precoding techniques can achieve nearoptimal capacity due to the special channel property in downlink massive MIMO systems, but involve high complexity since complicated matrix inversion of large size is required. In this paper, we propose a low-complexity linear precoding scheme based on the Gauss-Seidel (GS) method. The proposed scheme can achieve the capacity-approaching performance o...

Auto Calibration for Signal Separation with Uniform Linear Arrays

In this paper, the problem of signal waveform estimation using a uniform linear array with unknown receiver gain and phase responses is considered. As is well known, it is not possible to uniquely estimate directions-of-arrival (DOAs) and receiver gain and phase simultaneously. For steering vector and signal separation this ambiguity is not critical. An ESPRIT-like solution is presented, and th...

Direction Finding With Partly Calibrated Uniform Linear Arrays

A new method for direction finding with partly calibrated uniform linear arrays (ULAs) is presented. It is based on the conventional estimation of signal parameters via rotational invariance techniques (ESPRIT) by modeling the imperfections of the ULAs as gain and phase uncertainties. For a fully calibrated array, it reduces to the conventional ESPRIT algorithm. Moreover, the direction-of-arriv...

Constructing Receiver Signal Points using Constrained Massive MIMO Arrays

A low cost solution for constructing receiver signal points is investigated that combines a large number of constrained radio frequency (RF) frontends with a limited number of full RF chains. The constrained RF front ends have low cost and are limited to on/off switching of antenna elements and a small number of phases. Severe degradations are typically observed for multi-user MIMO for these si...
